Obituary

The funeral service for Dick Parker of Tulsa, formerly of Wagoner, was held at 2 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend Randy Mitchell officiated. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. Mr. Parker's family served as pallbearers. Dick Raymond Parker was born October 22, 1916 in Temple, OK to Benjamin and Fannie Parker. He moved to Wagoner at an early age and graduated from Wagoner High School. Dick served five years in the United State Army 45th Infantry Division and was in service when World War II began. He was a longtime employee of General Electric and then Flint Steel. Dick departed this life on December 23, 2008 at Tulsa, OK where he had made his home for a number of years. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Vesta Parker; his son, Richard G. Parker and his wife, Sheila; two grandsons, Jason and Kelly, all of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; other relatives and friends. Mallett Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
