Don James Neal Sr. was born on January 28, 1938, to Herbert Lee Neal and Una Margaret (Oliver) Neal, in Braggs, Oklahoma.  After graduating High School, Don attended Northeastern State University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Science.  He met the love of his life (Baby) Mary Nell Hatfield, and married her on June 21, 1963;  Their enduring love story, built over six decades, was made by mutual respect, support, and countless shared memories, demonstrating that true love can withstand the test of time.

Don's honesty and deep love for his family were the foundation of his character, making him a beloved figure in their lives.  His wicked sense of humor added joy and laughter to their home, as he often delighted them with his repertoire of cheesy dad jokes, turning even a mundane moment into cherished memories filled with laughter and warmth.

Don departed this life on Tuesday morning, January 7, 2025, at the Wagoner Community Hospital, in Wagoner, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years.  Preceding him in death were his parents, Herbert and Una Neal; 2 sisters; and 4 brothers.

Cherishing the many fond memories of Don's life include his beloved wife, Mary  Neal of the home; son, Don James Neal Jr. and wife, Tommie of Wagoner, OK; daughter, Melinda Keeton and husband, Jay of MO; grandchildren, Kristen and husband, Joseph, Courtney, Hayden, Jorden, Mason, Michaela and husband, Charles, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Aly and Charlie; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him greatly.

The loss of Don will undoubtedly create a profound absence for his family, as his warmth and humor brought joy to those around him.  His lively spirit and playful nature created cherished memories that will linger in their hearts.

A Celebration of Life, honoring the life of Don Neal, will be held at a graveside service on Thursday, January 9, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Elmwood Cemetery, Wagoner, Oklahoma.  Reverend Mark Pointer will officiate.
