Obituary

Don Alfred Robertson was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on February 13, 1927 to his parents, A.E. and Jane (Bailey) Robertson. He grew up in the area attending the Chilocco Indian School and later, Northeastern State University. He completed his education in Houston where he received his degree in petroleum engineering. Don was also a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper during the Korean War. He spent most of his life in the Houston area engineering and designing pipelines for oil refineries and for the Alaskan Pipeline. Don was a member of the American Legion, a devoted member of the Destiny Family Church in Wagoner and served as President of the Chilocco Indian School National Alumni Assoc. He moved his family to Wagoner in 1995 partly for his love of the beach and the water. He enjoyed boating, sailing and all water sports. However, his greatest enjoyment came from time spent with his family. With them by his side, he peacefully passed away, Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Don was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, A.E. Robertson; his wife, Jean Carmen Robertson in 1982 and his wife, Irene Schober Robertson in 2005. He is survived by his daughters, Donna Emmons and her husband, Randy of Wagoner and Nancy Jane Roberts and her husband, Gary of Hamilton, Montana; a brother, Wade Robertson also of Wagoner; a sister, Joanne Wiley of Kansas; six grandchildren, Jason and Tiffany Emmons, Jeannie, Joe Rader, Mary and Anna Roberts; a great-granddaughter, Scarlet Harrell; a step-son, John Schober of Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
