Donald Gene Dorr

Donald Gene Dorr passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at his home in Chouteau, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on September 21, 1951, in Wagoner, Oklahoma, to Albert Eugene Dorr and Anna Lee (Lemley) Dorr.

Donald was raised in Wagoner and attended Wagoner High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1969. On February 29, 1980, he married the love of his life, Tanya Larae Austin. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Donald was a man who truly appreciated the simple joys of life. He loved animals, farming, and fishing, passions that reflected the way he was raised and the life he embraced. He found great happiness in camping and floating the Illinois River, and he took pride in vegetable gardening and working around his home. Whether tending to his land or spending time outdoors, he found peace in the life he created.

Above all, Donald loved his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. He also enjoyed visiting with his many friends, always taking time to share stories and laughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Anna Dorr; his sister, Toni Dorr; and his brother, Danny Dorr.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Tanya Dorr of the home; his son, Bobby Dorr of Chouteau, Oklahoma; his step-son, Bryan Wilson and wife, Amy of Arkansas; his grandchildren, Jenna Wilson, Lea Wilson, Jacob Dorr, Isaiah Dorr, Hailey Dorr, Mackyn’lee Dorr, and Milie Durr; his siblings, Dennis Dorr and wife, Denise of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Albert Dorr of Wagoner, Oklahoma, and Jeanie Dorr of Muskogee, Oklahoma; his special niece, Shawnda Williams; along with several other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Donald will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for the outdoors, and the deep devotion he had for his family. His presence will be greatly missed, but the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Graveside Service will be held to honor the life of Donald Dorr on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Those serving as casket bearers include Richard Hofschulte, Stevie Goad, Billy Snodgrass, David Potter, and Gerald Williams.
