Donald Dee
Linvill
April 24, 1938 – September 16, 2022
Donald Dee Linvill was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 24, 1938. After high school graduation Don served in the U.S. Navy as Petty Officer 3 rd class. He served until his honorable discharge on November 7, 1958.
Don married the love of his life, Cecile "Dee" Linvill in Tulsa on September, 1961. They shared a life together for 61 years and were blessed with three daughters, Annette, Lori and Ladonna, who were all the light of Don's life.
Don was the owner and operator of Wagoner Bronze. He was a foundry man and a master pattern maker. He additionally drove buses for Wagoner Public Schools and was an INT teacher.
Don was active in the First United Methodist Church where he served on various committees, was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, and for a time served as head of maintenance and custodial services.
Don was definitely a man with many interests. In the pursuit of those interest he made many friends who will greatly miss him. He found his greatest happiness in his family and in sharing his many talents with others.
Many people have fond memories of Don singing bass in the group, Safe Harbor. His musical talent extended to playing the guitar. He was active in the Wagoner Playhouse Association, contributing his acting and singing skills to a number of productions and serving as President of the organization.
Don was a Mason and Past Master of Wagoner Masonic Lodge #98. He was currently serving on the Degree Team and as Chaplain, which he had served for fourteen times. He was equally active in the Order of Eastern Star. He served as Worthy Patron and was Past Grand Escort to Ruth.
His other interests were many and included woodcarving, for which he earned awards, fishing, hunting, treasure hunting and coin and gun collecting. He was a sketch artist, soccer referee, scoutmaster and past President of the Glue Dobbers Association.
Don left this world to be with the Lord on Friday, September 16, 2022, with his family gathered to be by his side. He was preceded in death by his father, John Linvill; mother and stepfather, Kathryn Louise (Bell) and Sidney Funk and brothers, Leroy Rogers and Jimmy Rogers.
His loving family who survive him include his wife, Cecile "Dee" Linvill of the home; three daughters, Annette Bellis and husband, Dexter of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Lori Norman of Franklin, Tennessee and Ladonna Jeffers and husband, Brad of Wagoner, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Brandon Norman and wife, Carina, Alaina Waters and husband, Landon, Evan Norman, Ashley Moore and husband Chris, Shae Diehl and husband, Chris and Peyton Jeffers; great-grandchildren, Shayla Waters, Emilynn Bellis, Lincoln Waters and Dexter Diehl; other extended family and friends.
Friends and family will gather at First United Methodist Church, to celebrate a life well lived, at a memorial service Friday, September 23 at 1 pm. Officiating will be the Reverend Steve Harshaw.
Inurnment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Pallbearers include James Gardner, Jack Aldridge, Brandon Norman, Evan Norman, Peyton Jeffers and Jon Thomason. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Jeffers, Dexter Bellis, Chris Moore, Chris Diehl and Landon Waters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation or the International Myeloma Foundation.
