Donald Francis Stelling was born October 13, 1927 in Lockport, Illinois to George and Caroline (Weir) Stelling. He served during World War II in the Merchant Marines and in the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army.

He married the former Bette Merle Johnson on July 22, 1951. They shared a life for 65 years before her passing in 2017.

Before retirement Donald was employed as an insurance claims adjuster. He enjoyed race cars, woodworking and fishing. Later in life his favorite pastime was watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all of their activities.

Donald departed this life Sunday, January 16, 2022 in Muskogee, OK at the age of 94 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bette Stelling; his parents, George and Caroline Stelling; three brothers, Robert, George "Bus", and Fred; and one sister, Carol

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Donald Edward Stelling Sr. and Tina Stelling of Wagoner, OK; grandchildren, Brandy Failes and husband, Richard, Shelly Satterfield and husband, Kevin, all of Coweta, OK, Donald Edward Stelling Jr. and wife, Lindsey of Verdigris, OK, Cody Fraser and wife, Ashley of Jenks, OK and Colby Fraser of Pryor, OK; great grandchildren, Karissa Satterfield and husband, Tyler, Koltan Satterfield, Christian Satterfield, Payton Stelling, Kipton Stelling, Michael Failes and Aaron Failes; a brother, Charles "Rich" Stelling; numerous nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.

The funeral service to celebrate Donald's life will be at 2 pm Thursday, January 20, 2022 in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner. The Reverend Dr. Wesley Graver will officiate.
