Funeral services for Donna Ree Dieter, 54, Registered Nurse and life-long resident of Wagoner will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Mallett Funeral home Chapel in Wagoner with the Rev. Dr. Will Smith officiating. Donna was born April 2, 1959 to her parents, Dean and Frankie Jo (Vance) Counsil. At an early age her family moved to the Lake Ft. Gibson area near Wagoner where Donna grew up and graduated high school. Donna was united in marriage to George Dieter in Ft. Smith, AR on Nov. 23, 1983. She began her life-long career in the medical field as a Candy Striper' volunteer at the Wagoner Community Hospital at age 14. She continued her education in nursing at Connors State College, then sat for the national nursing registry to earn her RN, all while working and raising her family. She worked for Dr. John Jackson in Wagoner for 10 years and returned to the Wagoner Community Hospital as an RN for several years. Donna enjoyed cooking for family and friends and all of the gatherings at their family's homes. Surrounded by her family and friends, she passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, Jan. 15. Preceded in death by her parents, Donna is survived by her husband of over 30 years, George Dieter of the home; her children, Dean Dieter and Jada, Jenni Rodriguez and husband, Logen and Levi McIntosh and wife, Regina all of Wagoner; her sister, Kim Aveni and husband, Jim also of Wagoner; grandchildren, Savannah, Shannon, Dixie, Alex, Preston and Michael; several nieces and nephews including J.P. Counsil and wife, Christy of Wagoner; numerous other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers will be Logen Rodriguez, Brad Farmer, Dean Dieter, J.P. Counsil, Levi McIntosh and Bill Dieter. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Dieter, Tom Dieter, Jim Aveni, Troy McIvanny and Kenneth Roundtree. Funeral arrangements and interment in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner are directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
