IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dora May
Nicholas
August 11, 1934 – February 7, 2025
Dora May (Johnson) Nicholas was born on August 11, 1934, to Orville Johnson and
Edith (Rosenthal) Johnson, in Ray, Oklahoma. She received her formal education from
Wagoner Public Schools. She met and married the love of her life, Ernest Nicholas.
Their bond strengthened over shared experiences, from cozy nights spent at home to
adventurous travels that deepened their connections, creating love and laughter that
they cherished throughout their time together.
Dora's passion for crocheting was evident as she filled her home and gifted her
beautiful creations. She loved her weekly family dinners. Her family brought her
immense happiness, especially when her grandchildren would sleep over; the laughter
brought her great joy. She looked forward to her adventures with her great-grandson,
Chris. Each outing was a cherished opportunity for laughter; she loved their monthly
trip to the Casino and errands or other tasks with shared jokes and stories. She also
enjoyed playing solitaire, as it provided her with a great way to relax and unwind.
Dora departed this life on Friday, February 7, 2025, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, at the age
of 90 years, with her loving family at her side. Preceding her in death are her husband,
Ernest Nicholas; parents, Orville and Edith Johnson; daughter, Debbie Presley; and
sisters, Mary Southard, and Elaine Johnson.
Those cherishing the many loving memories of her life include her granddaughters, Debra Lea
Presley and Amanda Christine Presley; great-grandchildren, Chris Moore and his wife,
Ashley, Patrick Moore, Kaylee Ray, and Preston Lacy; great-great-granddaughter, Josie Moore, all who will miss her immensely.
She led a remarkable and fulfilling life, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
While her absence will be deeply felt, the cherished memories she created will provide
solace and comfort to her family in this difficult time.
