Doris Geraldine Riley was born April 9, 1933 in Younger Bend, near Porum, Oklahoma to Ezell and Rebecca Ruth (Pounds) Thompson. She graduated from high school in California. She and her husband, George Donald Riley, were married and settled in Porter during the early 1950's, and they began a long and happy life together. Doris and George built their house together. She worked cattle and built fence by his side. Doris loved the farm life. She rode horses and liked to rodeo and perform team pinning. Doris was employed as an inspector at Braden Industries for 29 years before retirement. She was a long time beautician in Porter. Doris departed this life on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at her daughter's home in Muskogee, OK at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 4 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister-in-law, Leona Thompson and a brother-in-law, Wayne Riley. She is survived by her husband, George Donald Riley, of the home; her children and their spouses, Terry and Teresa Riley of Porter, Shelly and Tom Webster of Muskogee and Therron Riley of Porter; a sister, Elvada Collins of El Centro, CA; a brother, Eual Thompson of Porter; a sister-in-law, Violet Riley of Porter; his grandchildren, Marissa Webster, Kaley Webster, Kelci Riley, Keirstin Riley, Joshua Richardson, Jacob Richardson, and Cierra Richardson; great-grandchildren, Trenton Rutherford and Amber Skaggs; great-great-grandchildren, Alec and Memphis; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend Leslie Parks will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter. Pallbearers will be Joshua Richardson, Jacob Richardson, Brian Bebee, Dwayne Thompson,Dennis McCollough and Tommy Adkins.
