Dorothy Bell (Barnett) Foster was born November 1, 1916 in Wagoner, OK to William Leonard and Bessie Mae (Bellah) Barnett. She was a graduate of Wagoner High School. Dorothy and her husband, Lonnie, made their home in California from 1952 until 1976. Every year Lonnie would bring Dorothy to Wagoner to visit her family. They later returned to Wagoner and settled near family to enjoy their later years with camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Dorothy was a longtime member of the Wagoner First Christian Church, where she served as an elder, sang in the choir, and participated in the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Garden Club and the Rebecca Lodge. Dorothy departed this life Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.L. and Bessie Barnett; her husband, Lonnie Adulpho Foster; and two infant brothers, Paul L. Barnett and Wendell Lawrence Barnett. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Jerry Fields of Wagoner; her son, Bill Foster of Dolan Springs, AZ; grandsons, Jeff and his wife, Kelli, Fields of Catoosa and Jason Fields of Wagoner; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Kelsi Fields; her sister, Margie Semore of Wagoner; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2014 at the First Christian Church in Wagoner. The Reverend Will Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dorothy Foster may be made to the Vision Fund of First Christian Church, 415 Northeast 2nd Street, Wagoner, OK 74467, or a charity of one's choice.
