Dorothy Sue Van Horn was born on February 14, 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Billy E. and Lela Florence (Kendall) Smith. She was a homemaker and her family was very important to her. She especially loved when they would go out to eat at Golden Corral and Boomrang. She loved fishing, crocheting, quilting, and playing mahjong on the computer.

Dorothy passed this life on Monday, September 27, 2021 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Florence Yvonne Myers; two grandsons, Devin Dewayne Myers and Baby Collins; and a brother-in-law, Richard Stevens.

Those left to cherish Dorothy's memory are her husband, Daniel Van Horn; son, Billy Van Horn and Kristen; daughter, Danyell Collins and her husband, Clarence; grandchildren, Christina Miller, Johnathon Myers, Ashley Collins, Daniel Collins, Tiffany Collins, and Jamie Collins; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lee Stevens and Patricia Mae Garner, and her husband, Gary; brother, James Elvin Smith, and his wife, Phyllis; special friend who was like a daughter, Melinda Hicks and her family; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

The celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, Oklahoma with Reverend Lisa Sowers officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

There will be a visitation for friends to share time with Dorothy's family on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel. Viewing will be Thursday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
