The funeral service for Dorthey Mae Fletcher, 69 of Wagoner will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with the Reverend Carl Murphy officiating. Dorthey was born Nov. 30, 1939 in Mayesville, Missouri to William Clark and Stella Mae (Smith) Simpson. At an early age her family moved to Oklahoma. Dorthey was ahomemaker, but to pursue her passion for sewing, she also worked in several of the fabric stores in the area. Dorthey was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed her quilting and crafts. She loved her dogs, who stayed by her side when possible. Surrounded by her family, Dorthey, passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009 at her home at the Toppers area near Wagoner. Dorthey was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, a brother, a grandson and two sisters-in-law. She is survived by her husband, James of the home; her two sons, Ronnie Edwards and his wife, Cheryl, of Wagoner and Dan Edwards and his partner, John, of Tulsa; three daughters, Kathy Keane of Little Rock, Arkansas, Cindy Detlefs of Evergreen, Colorado and Becky Propst of the home; two brothers, John Frank Simpson and his wife, Lillie, of Ketchum and James Simpson and his wife, Barbara, of Wagoner; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
