IN LOVING MEMORY OF

July 15, 1940 – September 14, 2016
Douglas Wayne Rowe was born July 15, 1940 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Willie Arlie and Geneva Lucielle (Sivia) Rowe. Following graduation from Wagoner High School Doug served in the United States Navy until his Honorable Discharge in August, 1964. He married his country bumpkin sweetheart, Carol Ann Haynes, on June 24, 1963.
Doug was a man with many interests and hobbies. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting, always with a bow, as well as raising a garden with many vegetables for his family to enjoy. In the 70's he was an Illinois River pirate diver. He loved to fly his ultralight plane and had a pilot's license to instruct. He liked to prospect for gold and was a published author of a magazine story based on his true prospecting experience called "The Christmas Nugget".
Doug had a first career as a shipping and receiving manager at McDonnell-Douglas and later was a remodeling supervisor for TRC Construction. Before becoming management Doug served as a union shop steward.
Doug's family will always remember his gift for fun and the love and enjoyment he had for his family and the time they spent together. For many years the family enjoyed weekend camping trips during the summer, one of many wonderful memories they will always hold dear. "Annie over" was a favorite family game.
He had always had a dream of constructing a home for his wife, Carol, and he was able to complete this custom built home in 2000.
