Some people leave footprints. Dylan Andrew Ruehle left tire tracks, fishing lines, golf divots, ski wakes, and a trail of memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him.
Dylan departed this life on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by the unwavering love of his family, following complications from an accident. Though his time here was far too short, the life he lived was full of adventure, laughter, and moments that mattered.
Born on April 1, 2010, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Audrea Hoffmann and Kyle Ruehle, Dylan split his time between Gillette, Wyoming, where he lived with his mother, Audrea and dad, Travis, and Wagoner, Oklahoma, where he spent summers making memories with his dad, Kyle, and mother, Brittany. No matter where he was, Dylan had a way of making every place feel like home.
To know Dylan was to know a young man who rarely wanted to be indoors. If there was sunshine, fresh air, water, woods, or an open field, that’s where you could find him. He loved sports and competition, especially golf and basketball. He also played soccer, football, and baseball, always giving his best and encouraging those around him.
The outdoors wasn’t just something Dylan enjoyed, it was where he felt most alive. Fishing and golf sat at the top of his list of favorite things, but hunting, hiking, skiing, boating, and every outdoor adventure imaginable weren’t far behind. He had recently set his sights on learning to wake surf and was determined to master it. He would constantly send Kyle and Brittany videos, tips, and tricks he found online, studying every detail and planning his next attempt. Once Dylan decided he wanted to learn something, there was no stopping him.
One of Dylan’s greatest gifts was the way he made people feel special. He was respectful, thoughtful, and genuinely polite. He carried himself with a maturity beyond his years and treated people with kindness and respect. His family will forever cherish a special pinky promise made between Dylan, Kylie, and his best friend, Casen. Together, they promised they would always stay together and never be apart. While life has taken a path none of them could have imagined, the love, friendship, and memories they shared remain unbroken. Every laugh, every adventure, and every moment spent together now serves as a reminder of a remarkable young man whose friendship was genuine and whose heart was full of love.
Whether you knew him for years or only a few moments, Dylan made an impression that lasted. His family and friends will remember the laughter, the adventures, the conversations, and the countless memories that now become treasured stories. While hearts are broken by his absence, they are also filled with gratitude for the privilege of having known him.
Dylan’s story was not measured by years, but by the joy he shared, the lives he touched, and the love he gave so freely. His memory will continue to live on in every cast of a fishing line, every early morning on the golf course, every day spent on the water, and every adventure waiting just beyond the horizon.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his family takes comfort in knowing that a life filled with this much love, laughter, and adventure leaves behind memories that time can never erase.
A Celebration of Life honoring Dylan will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Canebrake.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Dylan Andrew Ruehle Memorial Golf Scholarship Fund, Account Number 53514637, at Arvest Bank, 1521 W State Highway 51, Wagoner, OK 74467
And in true Dylan fashion, it seems only fitting to end with one of his most memorable life decisions. After all, he eventually gave up baseball because, according to Dylan, it was messing up his golf swing. Priorities mattered, and Dylan knew exactly where golf ranked.
The family of Dylan Ruehle has entrusted his care and cremation to Mallett Funeral Home and Cremation, 417 East Cherokee Street, Wagoner, Oklahoma, 74467. 918-485-2911
