Obituary

Mr. Ed Dilbeck, 84, of Porter passed away Monday evening while going out to feed and check his cows – just like he would have wanted to go. For years Ed worked at Braden Winch where everyone kidded him about going there to "rest up" from all the work he did at the farm. Ed ran cattle, farmed, custom baled hay, and had a natural love for horses. Above all he loved spending time with family and friends – and he had a lot of them, for everyone liked Ed.

Harold Edward Dilbeck was born January 15, 1933 in Tallahassee Mission, OK to James Dudley and Zola Arcenia (Hall) Dilbeck. He was a lifelong Clarkesville and Porter resident. He was employed by Braden Winch for thirty years operating a forklift, and he delivered for Love Bottling Co. He was known for his "whiskering" and enjoyed a big collection of western movies.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill Dilbeck and Jerry Dilbeck; and two sisters, Lenora Walker and Freda McGehee.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Geraldine Dilbeck of the home; his children and their spouses, Gary and Sherry Dilbeck of Catoosa, OK and Jimmy and Debby Dilbeck of Porter, OK, Nana and Joe Snow of Porter, OK and Kenneth and Jennifer Marshall of Porter; grandchildren, Teddy Dilbeck, Julie Dilbeck, Jared Dilbeck, Cody Snow, Emily Snow, Kimberly Adcock, Nanci Hester, Waid Dilbeck, Natalie Fleming, Stacy Raynor, Kaylynn Marshall, Mariah Marshall, and Allyssa Marshall; eighteen great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren and all who knew him as "Papa Ed"; other relatives and many friends.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner.

The funeral service is 2:00 PM Thursday at Porter First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Reverend Dennis Piearcy and the Reverend Bobby Jenkins. Pallbearers will be Kent Acree, Roy Cole, Tommy Dry, Dennis Holmes, Harvey Holmes, Chad Marshall, Douglas McKinney, Brent Roberts and Sonny Tibbs. Honorary pallbearers will be J. W. Acree, Andy Andersen, Leroy Buster, Jack Cieloha, Bill McLemore, Marvin Linzy, Theodore Parker, Steve Staner, and Mike Yochum.
