Eddie E. Montgomery was born October 23, 1916 in Muskogee, OK to Frank and Jessie (Boston) Montgomery. He married the former Elender Holt in 1938. They lived a long and happy life together that spanned 75 years. He was a rancher all his life until he and Elender moved to Collinsville, OK several years ago. Eddie departed this life on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Hillcrest Select Specialty Hospital in Tulsa, OK at the age of 96 years. He will be laid to rest by his son, Clyde Lee, following a graveside service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Double Springs Cemetery near Hulbert, OK. James Parker will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mike Ashlock, James Parker, Jimmy Wilson, Clay Morgan, Carl January and Wayne Ashlock. Eddie is survived by his wife, Elender (Holt) Montgomery of the home; two daughters, Geneva Parker and Joyce Victory and her husband, Belvin; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie; a sister-in-law, Ruby; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Clyde Lee Montgomery; his parents; two sisters and three brothers. Mallett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
