Edith May Armstrong, 95, went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2025. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Cade and Myrtle Pingleton; her husband, Ulysses Lee Armstrong; her beloved son, Ernest Armstrong; her ten siblings, Frank, Marvin, Earl, Idabelle, twin brother Earnest, Billy Joe, Joyce, Benny, Bobby, and Betty. Edith is survived by her son, Dennis Armstrong and his wife, Cheryl; daughter-in-law, Charity Armstrong; granddaughters, Erin Johnston and husband, John and Kara Brower and husband, Jacob; grandson, Ryan Armstrong and wife, Liz; great-grandsons, Cayden and Chance Johnston, Aceson, Grady and Archer Armstrong; and great-granddaughter, Alyssa Brower.
She was born in Monroe, Oklahoma to Cade and Myrtle Pingleton on March 25, 1929. She grew up in Okay, OK. On May 2, 1946 she married Ulysses Lee Armstrong, and they made their home in Muskogee, OK. After a long career at H. B. Egan Manufacturing, Edith retired and enjoyed thirty-three years of retirement.
Edith loved spending time with family and friends. She was an avid sports fan, especially the OKC Thunder, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Atlanta Braves baseball teams. She loved keeping score along with the officials in her "approved" scorebook, just to make sure the officials did a good job!
Edith loved music and was self-taught on the piano. She loved entertaining others. The family has fond memories of her great sense of humor and practical jokes. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
The service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
