Elender (Holt) Montgomery was born July 12, 1924 in Hulbert, OK to Yancy and Maggie (Harp) Holt. She married Eddie Montgomery in 1938. They lived a happy life together for seventy-five years before his death in 2013.

Elender made her home in Hulbert, OK most of her life. She and Eddie lived a life in ranching before moving to Collinsville, OK in their later years. They attended the Prairie View Church in Hulbert for many years.

As health made it difficult to move around, Elender spent much of her time reading, a hobby she enjoyed throughout her life. She made beautiful quilts, and every member of her family cherishes the quilt she made for them.

Elender departed this life early Thursday, July 20, 2017 in Skiatook, OK where she lived for the past several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Montgomery, a son, Clyde Lee Montgomery; her parents, Yancy and Maggie Holt; a sister and a brother.

Elender is survived by two daughters, Geneva Parker and Joyce Victory; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; fifteen great great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be from 1:00-5:00 pm Sunday, at the Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 am Monday at the Church of God in Skiatook, OK. Officiating will be Brother William Vance.

Interment will be in Double Springs Cemetery in Hulbert, OK. Pallbearers will be James Parker, Mason Victory, Wayne Ashlock, Jimmy Wilson, Michael Ashlock and Jamie Wilson.
