Elizabeth Iva (Falwell) Williams was born December 7, 1930 in rural Wagoner County, OK. She was the 9th child and 5th daughter born to William Genoa Falwell and Eura Grace (Yonger) Falwell. After graduating high school, where she played basketball, Elizabeth studied nursing. She worked as a nurse for time and then followed a career with Coburn Optical making eyeglasses.
Elizabeth's lifelong faith was important to her. She was baptized in the Church of Christ in September 1942. She was a member of the Chandler Road Church of Christ for many years. Most of her life she made her home in Fort Gibson. She worked in day care and was a mother to foster children.
Elizabeth's family was the center of her life. Her activities focused on her children's activities and was always present for them. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts. In later years she cared for her elderly parents.
Elizabeth departed this life Monday, June 26, 2023 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 92 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Kenneth Harold Williams and Hubert Glenn Cole; and all of her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth Paul Williams and wife, Nora of Dallas, TX, daughter, Twilla Marie Hardy and husband, Lee of Fort Gibson, OK and son, George Leonard Williams of Mounds, OK; grandchildren, Elizabeth Grace Bazan of Dallas, TX, Wesley Hardy and wife Angel of Okay, OK, Stewart Hardy and wife, Annie of Fort Gibson, OK and Stefanie Austin and husband, Darien of Fort Gibson, OK; nine great-grandchildren, Zachary, Brenden and Emma Hardy, Makenzie, Jace and Kaiah Austin, all of Fort Gibson, OK and Morgan and Levi Hardy and Olivia Suire, all of Okay, OK.
Friends and family will gather for a funeral to celebrate her life at 9:30 am Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Chandler Road Church of Christ in Muskogee, OK. Officiating will be Mr. Michael Carney.
The service of Committal will be at 11 am Thursday at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, where Elizabeth will be interred with her husband, Kenneth Harold Williams.
Viewing will be Wednesday from 10 am until 7 pm at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner.
