The memorial service for Emerita "Meddy" Eulalia Hernandez Gillin will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2018 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel, 417 East Cherokee Street, Wagoner, Oklahoma.

Emerita was born December 10, 1939 in Pinar del Rio, Cuba to Hilario Hernandez and Brigide German Hernandez. Her siblings included sisters, Sonya, Carina, Coyo, Estrella and Guidelia; and brother, Juan.

She first met her husband, Bruce Gillin, when he was stationed in Cuba. When he later returned to Cuba he brought Emerita back to the United States with him as his bride. While they were married they enjoyed raising their children together and lived all over the world.

For many years Emerita was employed at Muskogee Regional Medical Center as a respiratory therapist. In her free time she enjoyed playing bridge and bowling and was a student of karate. Her favorite place to be was at the beach.

Survivors include five children, Maria Rammage and her husband, Keith, of Macon, Georgia; Bruce Randolph "Randy" Gillin, Karen Gillin, both of Porter, Oklahoma, Melisa Gillin, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Roy V. Gillin and his wife, Heather of Warner Robins, Georgia; her grandchildren, Veronica Martin and Frank Martin, both of Georgia, Jesse Gillin, Cameron Gillin, Tristen Buller, Nicholas Buller and Daniel Ragsdale, all of Oklahoma; Breanna Lewis, Helena Gillin and Autumn Gillin, all of Georgia; her extended family and friends.
