Obituary

Galveston - Emery Loyd "Todd" Hensley passed away on Monday, May 3, 2010, at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He was 74 years old. As a kidney transplant recipient over 5 years ago, he knew and appreciated the value of each day. Anyone who has had the opportunity to speak with Emery will simply recognize a joyful spirit and those who knew him well appreciated his deep compassion, intellect and sharp wit. He loved collecting coins and was a coin collector for many years. In the 1950's, while a high school student, he went to work for City Vending Company. He was the son of William and Edna Hensley and came into this life on June 6, 1935, in Tullahassee, Oklahoma. Emery was educated in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where he attended Central High School and Connors State College in Warner, Oklahoma. He is a former resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma and former owner of City Vending of Muskogee and 3-H Leasing. Emery was a lifetime member of the Bedouin Shrine Temple, a 32nd Degree Mason of the Muskogee Lodge No. 28 and also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge. He served on the Muskogee State Fair Board for several years. Emery is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Mary Ann Hensley, his sister Anna Jenkins and her husband John of Muskogee, his brother Bill Hensley and his wife Blanche of Muskogee, his brother John Hensley and his wife Raydelle of Muskogee, his uncle Fred Hensley and his wife Luciene of California and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Porter, Oklahoma. The Reverend Tom Shelton will officiate. Interment will be held at the Porter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Yandell, Amos Farr, Billy Inhofe, Mike Norman, Bill Hensley, Jr. and Mark Liebig. Friends may wish to remember Emery by making memorial contributions to the Bedouin Shrine Temple Transportation Fund, 201 S. 6th Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma 74401.
