Erika Young, 82 died Sunday, November 30, 2008 at her home in Porter, OK. She was born in Kassel, Germany on April 19, 1926, one of seventeen children born to her parents, Marie Fisher and Friedrich Wilhelm Rehe. In 1957 Erika came to America as a bride. She and her husband, Ralph Young, moved to Porter in 1981. He preceded her in death in 1994. Erika worked as a waitress and as a keeper nanny of small children. She had many friends who visited and called her. Erika was of the Catholic faith and burned many candles praying for those she loved and their families. She was a giving spirit and helped those around her when they had a need. A memorial service is planned ten o'clock Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
