Ernest Nicholas passed away December 22, 2013 at his home in Wagoner. He was born to Frank and Mary (Cole) Nicholas on November 2, 1930 in Hulbert, OK. He served the U.S. Army for two years. Ernest was retired from American Airlines in 1981 after 27 years and 2 months of employment as a mechanic. He was a small rancher until his health failed and he turned it over to his son-in-law, Terry, whose relationship with Ernest was like father and son. Ernest enjoyed family dinners and loved the family very much. Ernest is survived by his wife, Dora Nicholas of the home; a son-in-law, Terry Presley; daughter Sharon Nicholas; son, Ernie Nicholas, a sister, Susie Buford of Wagoner; a brother, Bob Nicholas; three granddaughters, Debra Presley-Gwyn and her husband, Bob Gwyn, Amanda Presley, and Krisitie Lampkin and her husband, David; six great-grandchildren, Chris Moore and wife, Ashley, Patrick Moore, Kaylee Ray, Preston Lacy, Madisan Lampkin and Cameron Lampkin. Ernest was preceded in death by a very special daughter, Deborah Ann Presley; his parents; and three brothers, Cecil, Lester and Franklin; other relatives and his friends. Ernest will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner under the direction of Mallett Funeral Home.
