Ezra Sylvannis "Bannis" Sowers was born October 1, 1930 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Marion Charles and Verba Mae (Prock) Sowers. He and his wife, Patsy Ruth, were married July 20, 1950. They enjoyed a long and happy life together for 58 years before her passing in 2008. Bannis was a farmer and a carpenter. He liked fishing, singing and going to church.

Ezra Sowers departed this life Monday, February 20, 2017 in Muskogee, OK at age 86. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Sowers, his parents; a grandson, Ronnie "Bub" Sowers and numerous other family members and friends.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Linda Sowers of Wagoner, OK; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Bob Brewer and Debbie and Larry Duvall, all of Wagoner, OK; his grandchildren, Rhonda Sowers, Mick Jones, Eric Jones, Jennifer Duvall and Lisa Duvall-Lyons; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlene Scroggins of Coweta, OK and Ella Mae Heath of Wagoner, OK; many other family and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner.

The Funeral will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Mallett Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend Lisa Sowers will officiate.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. Pallbearers will be Dennis Dorr, Thomas Applegate, Mike Jones, Eric Jones, Dylan Jones and Bob Brewer. Honorary pallbearers will be Ace Jones, Larry Duvall and Kenneth Heath.
