F D Combs was born September 8, 1931 in Reidsville, NC to Clyde Leonard and Nora Alice (Alley) Combs. Following school F D served his country in both the US Navy and US Marine Corps. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

He was an over the road truck driver for a number of years. F D made his home in the Ft. Gibson Lake area of Toppers near Wagoner, OK. He was a well-known and well-liked member of the Topper's community. F D liked people and could make friends with anyone he met. His was a familiar face at the Topper's Store.

F D liked fishing, particularly for catfish, and loved mowing his yard. He had a reputation as an accomplished pool player and a great bowler. His many bowling trophies attested to that fact.

F D's favorite thing was cars. He loved fast cars and always had a new sporty car to drive around. He liked making car models as well.

F D departed this life Friday, March 1, 2024 at the Oklahoma Veteran's Center in Claremore, OK at the age of 92 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Avanella Combs; his parents, Clyde and Alice Combs; two brothers, Clyde Combs Jr and Horace Combs; a brother-in-law, Robert Siler, and his special friend, Virginia Berry.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Rose Siler and Betty Jo Michael and husband, Raymond; a brother, Tommy Combs and wife, Linda; stepson, Terry Wolbert and wife, Patsy; step daughter, Linda Henry and husband, James; and step granddaughter, Heather Hart and husband, Loren, and their three children, Kylei, Leighton, and Kymber; other extended family; and friends.

F D will be interred at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK with his wife, Avanell A. Combs.
