The funeral service for Felix Jefferson "Jake" Sasnett, 58, of Wagoner, will be at 10 AM Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend Homer Rich and the Reverend Charles Escoe will officiate. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Friday. Interment will be in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Stilwell, OK. Pallbearers will be Larry Hubbard, Jim Stewart, Mike Hester, Kenny Whitlock, Willie Gann, Pat Miller, Ray Brown and Joel McDonald. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Yates, Bill Brown, Bill Lollis and all the truck drivers for Air Products and Chemicals. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW 5th District Rifle Squad. Jake departed this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Charity Eubanks, three brothers-in-law, Wayne Eubanks, Bill Rich and Gary Hall and a niece, Donna Kay Johnson. He was born June 7, 1951 in Stilwell, OK to Joseph Warren and Dolly Cordelia (Collins) Sasnett. Jake graduated from Sand Springs High School and served in the United States Air Force. Jake was a truck driver for 34 years, driving for Air Products and Chemicals for 21 of those years. He was the recipient of a Two Million Miles Safe Driving Award. Jake's family, friends and neighbors were all important to him, and he always did things for them, such as mowing yards, and he liked to garden. His loving family will miss him greatly. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Sasnett of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Charity Annabelle and Levi Grooms of New Orleans, LA and Bethany Hope and Andrew Rhyne of Wagoner; one grand-daughter, Elsi Annabelle Grooms; a god-daughter, Marissa Goins of Mannford; a god-grandson, Dane Caleb Cummings, or "Pooter" to his Papa; three sisters, Ella Mae Rich of Stilwell, Dorothy Singleton of Sand Springs and Hazel Hite of Prairie Grove, AR; two brothers, Charles Sasnett of Stilwell and Jimmy Joe Sasnett of Stilwell; his parents-in-law, Jeff and Lucille Baker of Stilwell; brothers-in-law, Don Hall and Randall Hall, both of Stilwell; sister-in-law, Connie Hall of Paris, AR; fourteen nieces and nephews; twenty-two great nieces and nephews; one great-great nephew; other relatives and many friends and neighbors.
