Obituary

A graveside service honoring the life of Floyd Cavanaugh will be held at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery on Friday, January 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.  Military Honors will be provided by the Donaghe-Elliott Post 56 American Legion of Haskell, OK.

Floyd Everett Cavanaugh was born February 13, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri to Edgar Everett and Bernice (Holmes) Cavanaugh.

Most of his adult life Floyd served in the United States Army. He served two tours of Vietnam and completed thirty-three years before his honorable discharge with the rank of Master Sergeant.

Floyd made his home in Coweta, OK for the past three years. He loved to be active playing golf or billiards, and walked many miles every day.

Floyd departed this life Saturday evening, December 28, 2019 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK at the age of eighty years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Ann Cavanaugh, both parents and sisters, Mildred and Dorothy.

Survivors include his children, Darlene Wilson, Diane Hardin, Michelle Joyner, John Cavanaugh, Kim Persons, David Cavanaugh and Dennis Cavanaugh; numerous grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
