Floyd A. Edwards was born April 5, 1930 in Rockford, Illinois to Andrew and Alverta (Stutzman) Edwards. Most of his life was spent in Missouri and Arkansas. He had made his home in Wagoner since 1982 when he and his wife, Virginia moved to be near family. Before retirement Floyd owned and operated a roofing business. He loved ranching and raising horses throughout his life. Floyd was a member of the Church of God. Floyd died on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in Wagoner, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 18 days. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, on May 4, 2000; his parents; eight brothers, five step-sisters and one step-brother. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Dennis Harris of Wagoner; two grandchildren, Angie Bilby of Wagoner and Brent Harris and wife Alyssa, of Tulsa; three great-grandchildren, Emma Bilby, and Adyn and Rex Harris; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner. The Reverend Carl Murphy will officiate. Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner.
