FRANKIE JO COUNSIL Funeral services for Frankie Jo Counsil, 80, long-time resident of Wagoner will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 26 at the First Christian Church in Wagoner with the Reverend Dr. Will Smith officiating. A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday at Mallett Funeral Home. Frankie was born April 6, 1933 in Oklahoma City, OK to her parents, William and Dixie (Bullock) Vance. She grew up in Tulsa, and graduated Tulsa Central High School. On December 12, 1957, Frankie was united in marriage to Dean Shannon Counsil in Miami, Oklahoma. One year later, they moved their family to the Wagoner area near Lake Ft. Gibson which allowed Frankie to enjoy the outdoors, camping, flowers and bird watching. Frankie worked for many years as a secretary at Carboline Industrial Paints of Tulsa. Her family and faith were most important as she was always a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Frankie was a long time and devoted member and Deacon Emeritus of the First Christian Church of Wagoner, a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship and studied her Bible daily. Along with nature, she enjoyed working puzzles and antiquing - even working at The Wagoner Antique Shop for a time. Surrounded by her family, she passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 23 at her home near Wagoner. Frankie was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of 39 years, Dean S. Counsil. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Dieter and husband, George and Kim Aveni and husband, Jim all of Wagoner; grandchildren, Dean Dieter and fiancé, Jada Brazellsmith, Jenni and Logan Rodriguez and J.P. and Christy Counsil; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Dean Dieter, Bill Dieter, Shane Aveni, J.P. Counsil, Logan Rodriguez and Levi McIntosh. Honorary pallbearers are George Dieter, Jim Aveni, Jim Self, Henry Joe Vance and Richard Ashburn. Funeral arrangements and interment in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner are directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.
