Fred Franklin George Jr. was born July 16, 1965 in Muskogee, OK to Fred Franklin George Sr. and Norma Jean (Elkins) George. He graduated from Porter High School in 1983 and soon after earned a degree from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology.
Fred married Rebekah Leitz on November 11, 1995. He became a proud father of Rebekah's son, Daniel Leitz, who was 2 years old at the time of their marriage. Fred and Rebekah later had 4 more children: MegAnne (1997), Abigail (2001), Joseph (2003), and Samuel (2007).
Fred was a diligent worker and provider, and he was revered by everyone who knew him. He was a devoted and loving husband. He was a playful and involved father. Fred adored his grandchildren and would do anything to make them smile.
In 2018, Fred was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. In June of 2021, he received a double lung transplant. After many health complications following the transplant, Fred went to Heaven on Friday, September 9, 2022 at the age of 57 years.
Fred was preceded in death by his son, Joseph George; parents, Fred and Norma George; paternal grandparents, David Allen and Paula George; maternal grandparents, Marvin P. and LaVonia Elkins, sister, Judith Celia George, sister, Carol Adams, and niece, Lacey Durrett.
Survivors include his wife Rebekah George; children, Daniel Leitz, MegAnne and William Calverley, Abigail George, and Samuel George; grandchildren, Aspen, Callum, and Rennan; two sisters, Kathryn Durrett of Porter, OK, Vicki Keele of Okmulgee, OK; a paternal aunt, Allena Faye Miller of Beaumont, TX; numerous other much loved family members and cherished friends.
A celebration of the life of Fred Franklin George Jr. will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, Oklahoma.
