Funeral services for Fred Yeary, 82, a life-long resident of Wagoner, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, December 23, 21013 at the Immanuel Southern Baptist Church in Wagoner, with the Reverend Willie Rice officiating. Mallett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Fred Edsel Lee Yeary was born February 27, 1931 in rural Wagoner County to Clyde and Flossie (Woodard) Yeary, who preceded him in death. He grew up in the area and graduated from Wagoner High School. Fred was united in marriage to the former Jannie Marrie Taylor in Tahlequah on November 26, 1952. They enjoyed a happy life together for 59 years until Marrie's passing in 2012. He later enlisted and served in the United States Army, followed by service in the U.S. Army Reserve. For 36 ½ years Fred worked for Safeway as the produce manager in Wagoner. He and Marrie enjoyed traveling all over the country as often as possible. He was a true outdoorsman and an avid fisherman and hunter. He and Marrie were long time members of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Wagoner. Surrounded by the love of his family, Fred passed away peacefully, Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Wagoner Care Center. Survivors include his two sisters, Lorene Cobb of Wagoner and Bernice Haskins and her husband, Bill, of Redding, California; his brother, Johnny Yeary and his wife, Sharon, of Collinsville, OK; several nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner, OK. Pallbearers will be Ivan Yeary, Donnie Thayer, Rick Collins and Jack Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Barteoll, Floyd Isley and Bob Rice.
