Fred Ray Russell was born September 11, 1939 in Perry, Oklahoma to Clyde Howard and Mabel Elizabeth (Roberts) Russell. Fred graduated from high school in Morrison, Oklahoma. He then joined the U.S. Army on April 11, 1962. Fred worked in construction as a pipefitter and was a member of the Masons. He married Cherry Sue (Conatzer) Russell in 1966.
Fred liked to fish and go deer hunting. Although the family is not sure that he ever shot a deer, he enjoyed the time spent with friends. Fred also liked to spend time with his family and to sit outside to watch the neighborhood and traffic.
Fred departed this life at his home on Friday, October 28, 2022 in Wagoner, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mabel Russell; wife, Cherry Sue Russell; brothers, Frank Russell, Bob Russell, and Jack Russell; and son-in-law, Marcus Moore.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Pamela Russell-Moore of Wagoner, Teresa Hause of Tulsa, and Jennifer Cavanaugh of Coweta; grandchildren, Tyler Russell, Ke'Yanna Moore, Veroncia Cavanaugh, Elizabeth Cavanaugh, and Paige Cavanaugh (his favorite); brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Effie Russell; best friends, Frank Haynes, Joe Helmer, and Larry Grim; other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Noon at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel. Viewing will be on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
