Freddie Lee Trosclair was born August 25, 1926 in Arkansas to Lester and Ona (McCarthy) Kennon. She married Melvin Gregory Trosclair on July 9, 1943. They had met in Tulsa while he was on leave from the United States Army, and they began a long and happy marriage that lasted more than 68 years, until his death in February, 2012. They made their home in Tulsa for a number of years before moving to Wagoner nearly forty-two years ago. Freddie was a long time and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church, until poor health limited her activities. She enjoyed reading and being with her friends. Freddie departed from this life on Thursday, December 6, 2012 in Tahlequah, OK at the age of 86 years. Aside from her husband, Melvin, Freddie was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Kennon, and a son-in-law, Gary Wetzel. Survivors include her two daughters, Donna Elbon and Jackie Wetzel, both of Wagoner; five grandchildren, Frankie Trosclair, Lisa Tye, Steve Erwin, Mike Elbon and Anne Elbon; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Elliott Gordon, Daniel, Craig and Karen Tye, Justin and Evan Erwin, and Mikayla Brewer; one great great-granddaughter, Bradlee Gordon; other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner. The Reverend Mark Pointer will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mike Elbon, Steve Erwin, Dalton Self, Grady Kennon, Gary Wingo and Daniel Tye. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
