On March 27, 1962, a baby boy was born to John and Jean Chism and they named him Gary Eugene Chism.  They lived in Melvin, Oklahoma and he attended Hulbert Public Schools.  Later on in life, he moved to Wagoner, Oklahoma.

Gary met the love of his life, Tammie Gilford, and later on married and had 3 sons, Gary Allen Lee, John Eugene, and Jerimah Chism and later on divorced.

Gary, known by many as "SpongeBob", loved to do yard work and enjoyed fishing.

Gary passed this life on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the age of 62 years.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Henryetta Wofford; father, John Chism; brothers, Bobby Chism, Alma Lee Reed, Cecil Chism, and Johnny Chism; sister, Sandra Kay Chism; uncles, Cooey McDonald, Clarence Brewster, and James Chism; aunts, Majorie Chism, Thelma McDonald, and Marie Collins.

Gary leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Jean C. Jackson of Wagoner, OK; sons, Gary, John, and Jerimah Chism of Beggs, OK; sisters, Patricia Reed and Verna Robbins of Wagoner, OK; brothers, Larry Brewer, Michael Chism of Wagoner, OK, and Glendale Chism of Tahlequah, OK; aunt, Wennie Mae Armstrong of Hulbert, OK; 3 special nieces, Latina Reed of Wagoner, OK, Justice Robbins of Tahlequah, OK and Elissia Richardson of Tulsa, OK; a special nephew, Jason Robbins of Wagoner, OK. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will miss him.

Gary Loved the Lord and the community.  There was nothing Gary wouldn't do for anybody.

Viewing will be on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The family will greet friends at a Visitation on August 16, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at JJ Cemetery in Hulbert, Oklahoma.
