Gary Wayne Flowers was born October 31, 1946 in Richmond, California to Dale Howard Flowers and Betty Lou (Epperson) Flowers. He grew up in California and moved to Wagoner, OK later, where he had many happy memories of visiting as a youth. Gary proudly served his country as a Quartermaster in the United States Navy. He served on the USS Valley Forge and the USS Arlington. Gary served five tours of Viet Nam and received the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal and the Viet Nam Service Medal, with two Bronze Stars. Gary was an avid fisherman and a voracious reader. He had wonderful skills as a carpenter, handyman, and a stained glass artist. Gary departed this life early Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at his home in Wagoner at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by two aunts and two uncles, Hazel and John Choate and Virgie and Arnold Brady; and his grandparents, Victor and Chloe Flowers. His loving family will always cherish is kindness and his loving and thoughtful disposition. Survivors include Gary's devoted wife, Linda Romero (Robles) Flowers; two sons, Josh Flowers and Devon Foote and his wife, Taylor; daughter, Kelly Voyer; a grandson, Oliver Foote; Gary's father, Dale Flowers; and mother, Betty Flowers; sister, Patricia (Flowers) Juarez; his uncle, Clark Dale Brady; cousin, Steve Choate; other relatives and friends.
