Funeral services for Geneva Laverne Sissy' Moreland will be held held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at the Mallett Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with the Reverend Larry Brown officiating. A Visistation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday evening at Mallett Funeral Home. Sissy', as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, was born March 28, 1935 to Homer and Bonnie (Clarkson) Moreland. She grew up in Porter and attended school there. Sissy worked for many years as a caregiver until her retirement. She was a Christian her entire life and was a faithful member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Porter. She loved to read, embroider and cook and was famous for her fried chicken, homemade rolls and cinnamon buns. Her family was so important that she always remembered the birthdays and special events of all of her nieces and nephews with birthday cards and well wishes. She was truly loved and will be missed so many. Geneva passed away Friday, Jan. 6,2012 at the Wagoner Care Center. Sissy was preceded in death by her father, Homer and her oldest brother, Bill of Bartlesville, OK. She is survived by her mother, Bonnie Moreland; her brothers, Jim Moreland and his wife, Sue, Mickey Moreland and his wife, Kathy; her sisters, Sharon Payne and her husband, Bob, Joy Hendrix and her husband, Terry and Ruth Wray and her husband, Benjamin; a host of nieces and nephew and their families; other family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers were family members, Josh Wray, Chris Hendrix, Stephen Hendrix, Steven Douglas, Jason Moreland and Jimmy Moreland. Funeral arrangements and interment in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, Oklahoma are directed by Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner
