Geneva Gertrude (Montgomery) Parker was born on July 17, 1940, in Hulbert, Oklahoma, to Eddie Montgomery and Elender Alphabell (Holt) Montgomery. Her life was marked by unwavering love and dedication, as she nurtured her family with kindness, instilling values and creating cherished memories that would last for generations.
Geneva's ability to connect with those around her, especially through her kindness towards children and animals, showcased her innate compassion and dedication to the well-being of others, earning her a special place in the hearts of all who knew her. Her enthusiasm for garage sales displayed her thrifty personality, while her strong faith in Jesus and commitment to her church revealed her values and the importance she placed on her spirituality.
Geneva departed this life on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Elender Montgomery; husband, Buddie Parker; brother, Clyde Montgomery; and son-in-law, Wayne Ashlock.
Surviving Geneva and cherishing the many memories of her life include her children, Kathy Ashlock of Skiatook, OK, Joanne Savely and husband Danny of Sperry, OK, Tracy January and husband Carl of Avant, OK, Robin Morgan and husband Clay of Skiatook, OK, and James Parker and wife Cheryl of Kellyville, OK; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, and other family and friends, all who will miss her dearly.
Geneva's legacy as a devout Christian woman has profoundly touched the hearts of those who knew her, and while her absence will be felt deeply, the assurance that she is now with the Lord brings solace to all who mourn her. Her faith and spirit will continue to inspire and remind us of the enduring love she shared throughout her life.
A Visitation for family and friends to gather will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 10:00 am, at Skiatook Church of God, in Skiatook, Oklahoma.
A Celebration of Life service, honoring the life of Geneva Parker will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Skiatook Church of God, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Pastor William and Linda Vance will officiate.
Interment will follow at Double Springs Cemetery in Cherokee county. Those serving as pallbearers are James Parker, Carl January, Billy Dobb Jr, Billy Basore, Josh Denney, and Jimmy Wilson.
