George Lee Hefner was born January 3, 1943 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to George Allen Hefner and Shirley Mae (Tillery) Hefner. He attended Wagoner schools, graduating from Wagoner High School. After high school George served in the United States Army.

George was a self-employed carpenter by trade. He loved being outdoors, especially when hunting or fishing.

He departed this life Sunday, November 27 at the OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Hefner and his wife, Ann Mae Hefner.

Survivors include his son, David Hefner; nephews and nieces, Bill Ford, Janie Nevitt, Barbara Thomas, Odie Thomas, Earl Thomas (Donna), Raymond Thomas (Becky), Judy Morris (Dale) and Brenda Thomas; numerous extended family and friends.

There will be a memorial service at a later date.
