Obituary

George Donald Riley was born January 12, 1927 in Addington, Oklahoma to James Homer and Mamie Ruth (McLemore) Riley. George and his wife, Doris, lived a long and happy life together. He, like Doris, loved farm life; together they built their home, rode horses, worked cattle and built fence. George made his home in Porter, Ok since 1947. He sang for an Okmulgee radio station for years. In Corpus Christie, TX he worked as a barber on the marine base, and he also worked as a pumper in the oil fields for a number of years. George departed this life on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at his home in Porter at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 20 days. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his parents; two sisters, Helen McCollough and Ida Mae Prather; and a brother, Wayne Riley. Survivors include three children, Terry Riley and his wife, Teresa, of Porter, Shelly Webster and her husband, Tom, of Muskogee, and Therron Riley of Porter; two sisters-in-law, Violet Riley of Porter and Elvada Collins of El Centro, CA; a brother-in-law, Eual Thompson of Porter; his grandchildren, Marissa Webster, Kaley Webster, Kelci Riley, Keirstin Riley, Joshua Richardson, Jacob Richardson, and Cierra Richardson; great-grandchildren, Trenton Rutherford and Amber Skaggs; great-great-grandchildren, Alec and Memphis; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK. The Reverend Leslie Parks will officiate.
