IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gertrude "Trudy"
Blandon
August 12, 1946 – January 26, 2021
On August 12, 1946 a baby girl was born to William and Bertha (Davis) Abernathy, and they named her Gertrude Deloise. Trudy grew up in Gibson Station, OK where at an early age she accepted Christ into her life and became a member of St. John Baptist Church where she was still a member until her death.
Trudy attended Phyllis Wheatley Elementary in Gibson Station through 8th grade and from there she attended Lincoln High School in Wagoner, OK where she graduated with the Class of 1964.
Trudy met and married James Blandon Jr. and to this union four children were born. After their marriage was dissolved, Trudy went on to work and care for her children. She worked 20 years for Prestolite Inc. as an inspector before the plant was downsized. Her final 15 years of work before retirement were spent working for Wal-Mart as a cashier.
After retirement, Trudy enjoyed traveling with her girls and time spent with family, and of course, watching the Young and the Restless.
Trudy will definitely be missed by all that knew her.
Trudy is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jamesetta; and her sister, Joyce Jackson.
She is survived by her daughters Treva and LaKisha and one son Jamie Blandon all of Wagoner, OK.; one brother William Abernathy and wife Faye of Muskogee, OK; one brother-in-law Robert Jackson Jr. of Wagoner, OK; three granddaughters Mykal, Dominique, and Arianna of Wagoner, OK; one grandson McKalyb Williams of Camden, AR.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
