Gilbert Gonzales was born August 23, 1957 in Hereford, Texas to Monseis and Maria (Quiroz) Gonzales. Gilbert was a Muskogee, OK resident. He was a builder, working primarily in industrial construction. In his spare time Gilbert enjoyed working on cars, and he especially liked to spend time with family and friends.

Gilbert departed this life on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Eastar Health System in Muskogee, at the age of 59 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Monseis Gonzales, and a brother Mitcheal Gonzales.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, John and Maria Iliff of Muskogee, OK; his children, Yahna Brewer of Yukon, OK, Eric Gonzales of Yukon, OK, Mariah Crossland of Muskogee, OK and Sarah Winkel of Muskogee, OK; six sisters, Maria Graves, Grace Hill, Georgia Diaz, Gilda Gonzales, Monica Young, and Myra Duran; one brother, Marcus Diaz; and numerous other family and friends.

The Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 PM Friday, October 7, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Muskogee. Officiant will be the Rev. Fa. Michael J. Knipe.

Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Victor Duran, Ricky Duran, Micheal James, Martin Sam, Bobby Sam, Thomas Gonzales, and David Graves.
