IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glenn Edwin
Scott Jr.
June 23, 1938 – May 6, 2022
Glenn Edwin Scott Jr. was born to Midge and Glenn E. Scott in Talihina, Oklahoma on June 23, 1938. He lived his younger years in Page, Oklahoma, where his mother taught in a one room schoolhouse. When Glenn was in the ninth grade the family moved to Heavener, Oklahoma, where Glenn graduated from high school. Glenn continued his education at Southeastern State University, earning master's degrees in math and education.
Glenn and Janice married following his graduation from college. They began their married life in Denison, Texas where Glenn taught and coached football. A few years later they moved to Wichita, Kansas where he worked for IBM. Glenn's next employment took the family to Bentonville, Arkansas where Glenn set up computer programs for Wal-Mart.
They settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Glenn taught for Union Intermediate School for fifteen years before retiring. He and Janice bought land at Fort Gibson Lake and built a home. Glenn loved the forested area and wild life around them.
Glenn was a naturally friendly person, and they soon made many new friends. They became members of the First Christian Church where Glenn served on several committees in the church. He enjoyed playing golf and spent a lot of time reading.
Glenn departed this life Friday, May 6, 2022 at his home at the age of 83 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Edwin Scott Sr. and Midget Myrtle (Harris) Scott and a sister, Nann McCreary.
Glenn was loved by many people and will be greatly missed. His survivors include his wife, Janice Lynn Scott and their two sons, Robert Bradley Scott of New York City and David Brian Scott of Longview, Texas; two grandchildren, Reed Scott and Grace Scott and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 am Saturday, May 14, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Wagoner, OK. Officiating will be the Reverend Dr. Richard Allen.
