The Memorial Service for Glynn Lewis McCoy, Jr., Captain U.S. Air Force, retired, will be held at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 10, 2018.
Glynn was born August 10, 1929 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Glynn Lewis McCoy Sr. and Maxine (Duncan) Pranger. He attended college and joined the United States Air Force, retiring in 1967 after more than twenty years of service. While stationed in Japan Glynn joined the Masonic Lodge. He maintained an active membership until his death, most recently being a member of the Masonic Lodge #243, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Additionally, Glynn was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shrine,Scottish Rite, Eastern Star, and the VFW.
Glynn departed this life Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years. Preceding him in death were both his parents, a daughter, Melinda Jill McCoy and a son, Roger Allan McCoy.
Survivors include his wife, Lucile McCoy of the home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his children, Pamela Lissau and husband, John of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Todd Lewis McCoy and his wife, Stephanie, of Madera, California and Latrenda Deem and her husband, Steve, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Dr. Stephanie Porterfield of Norman, Oklahoma, Julie Barhydt of Monument, Colorado, Charles Deem, Captain, U.S. Army, of Clarkesville, Tennessee, and Jerry Deem of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Abby Barhydt, Audrey, Barhydt, Madison Deem and Riley Deem; sisters, Mary Sheriff and husband, Paul, Jeanne Ross and husband, Ted, and Rose Murphy; extended family and friends.
The family has suggested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in loving memory of Glynn may be made to the Shriner's Children Hospitals.
