Obituary

Grover Golden, Jr. was born November 24, 1940, in Wagoner County, Oklahoma, to Ruth (Shamley) and Grover Golden, Sr. After graduating from high school Grover attended college before beginning working. Until his retirement Grover was a forklift operator for a box manufacturing company. He married the former Ann Randles early in life, and they enjoyed many years together, raising a family and enjoying all the grandchildren. Grover's favorite pastime was spending time with the kids, biking, playing, going to breakfast, and riding around listening to music. Grover Golden departed this life to his homegoing on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by all his grandparents; his parents; an infant sister; a daughter, Gloria Ann Golden; and a daughter-in-law, Angela Bell. His loving family who will cherish is memory include his wife, Ann Golden of the home; children, Paul Golden, Tracy Releford, Tyrone Bell-Golden, Michele Bell-Mizzell and her husband, Damon MIzell, Paul Golden, Jr., Alora Golden, Abigail Jones, and Kyle Jones, grandchildren, Tony, Decarius, Travis, Trevor, Tracy, Jr., Ashley, Bryson, Jaden, Jaela, Jordan, Jaslynn, Anthony, Jimi, Desmond, Niyla, Desmond, Jr., Angel, Tiyna, Raelyn, Darnell, Darnell, Jr., Delani, and Antonio; one sister, Dorothy Golden; brothers, Granville Golden and his wife, Hattie, and Marcus Acklin and his wife, Denise; a foster brother, Steve Morris; foster sister, Janice Beckman; many nieces, nephews; cousins, other relatives and friends. A Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner. The Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 24, 2014 at the Cornerstone Community Church of the Nazarene in Wagoner. Officiating will be the Reverend Levi Jones. Grover's grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Cotton, Douglas Gay, Leo Thompson, James Blandon, Cassius Anderson and Marvin Shoemake. Flower Girls will be Pam Ray, Shirley Smith, Donna Ford, Clara Bell Deere, Essie Walker, Pauline Gibbs, Lois Alexander, and Sheila McCormick. Services will conclude with the Committal in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner. Arrangements are by Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner.
