Gustavo Macareno Quistian was born August 7, 1981 in San Luis, Mexico to Prudencio Macareno and Macaria (Quistian) Macareno. He moved to the United States while in his twenties. He lived in Wagoner, Fort Gibson and Muskogee before settling in Porter, OK. He was employed by McDonalds.

Gustavo enjoyed being outside with nature and loved to ride his four wheeler. His family will remember him as the one who brought the family together. They also will remember how he loved to dance and how good a dancer he was.

Gustavo departed this life early Friday, March 15, 2024 in the Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 42 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Domitilo Macareno.

Survivors include his parents, Prudencio and Macaria Macareno of Porter, OK; brothers, Bulmaro Macareno and wife, Dominga of Tahlequah, OK and Prudencio Macareno of Porter, OK; sisters, Pilar and her husband, Francisco Tovar and Jobita Macareno and her husband, Rosalio, all of Mexico, Ester Macereno and her husband, Eliceo, of Muskogee, OK and Elizabet Macareno and her husband, Juan, of Mexico; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and his friends.

The Rosary will be at 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 19 in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wagoner, OK. Reverend Father David Medina will officiate.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK, with the family serving as pallbearers.
