Obituary

Gwendolyn Sue (Hefley) Chuculate was born on November 16, 1946, in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Joseph Harley Hefley and Genevieve Leona (Powell) Hefley.  She spent her childhood in Wagoner and grew up attending Wagoner Public Schools.  Gwendolyn met and eventually married Wiley Chuculate on June 25, 1984. They shared 33 years happily married, enjoying the companionship of one another.

Gwendolyn was a dedicated and compassionate individual whose hard work at Ford Motor Company was matched by her post-retirement passions, including managing a limousine beef cattle ranch and nurturing her garden and flower beds. Her love for animals shone through her numerous rescue efforts and her enjoyment of observing hummingbirds at her feeders, reflecting her deep empathy and appreciation for nature. Her life's pursuits highlight a person who found joy and purpose in outdoor activities, animal care, and fostering beauty in her surroundings.

Gwendolyn departed this life on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Preceding her in death are her parents, Joseph and Geneieve Hefley; her husband, Wiley Chuculate; her children, Ronnie Joe Deatherage, and Jeffery Lenard Deatherage; and a sister, Kathlene Evans.
