Harold Dee Nelson was born August 27, 1940 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Leonard Hubert Nelson and Rachel Lee (Armstrong) Nelson. Before retirement Harold was an electrical engineer with Public Service Company of Oklahoma. He made his home in Chouteau, OK for 41 years, having moved from Jenks, OK. He was a dedicated member of the Chouteau United Methodist Church and would always be there to help in the church.

Harold married the love of his life, Linda Sue (McKinney) on October 31, 1959. They were a devoted couple for nearly sixty years until her passing in 2019. They were blessed with three children, Marsha, Mike and Sandy. They both loved caring for their home and yard. His friends, neighbors and family could count on Harold to be a great helper. He loved building and remodeling homes. He was an avid bird watcher and loved seeing birds and tending to his feeders every day.

Harold was a great Papa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The family will always be inspired by his motto, "What you put into life you get back."

Harold departed this life Tuesday morning, October 31, 2023 at his home in Chouteau, OK at the age of 83 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Rachel Nelson. His wife, Linda Nelson; daughter, Sandy Sullivan; two brothers, Kenneth Nelson and Larry Nelson; a sister, Bonnie Rich and son-in-law, Russell Sullivan.

Survivors include his daughter, Marsha Kay (Nelson) Chezem of Norman, OK; son, Michael Nelson of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Kimberly Pattillo of Norman, OK, Heather Lincoln of Norman, OK, Chelsea Sullivan of Tulsa, OK and Bailey Sullivan of Pryor, OK; great-grandchildren, Wyatt James, Gage, Hunter and Kali Pattillo and Gracie Lincoln; a brother, Alvie Nelson and wife, Beverly, of Durant, OK; sister, Bettye Sanroman and husband, Gilbert of Raton, NM; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service to honor the life of Harold Nelson, will be on Saturday, November 11,  2023, at the Chouteau United Methodist Church, in Chouteau, Oklahoma, 104 South Hayden St, Chouteau, Oklahoma, Pastor Scott Worley will be officiating
