IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harv
Fender
January 24, 1943 – August 16, 2025
Harry "Harv" Gustave Fender II of Wagoner, Oklahoma passed away at his home on August 16, 2025.
Harv was born in Norman, Oklahoma on January 24, 1943, to Harry G and Geraldine Sims Fender. He attended Wagoner Public Schools, where he played football and basketball, graduating in 1961. He then attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating in 1966. While at OU, he was a proud member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity and a Distinguished Military Graduate.
He then served his country, first as a Captain in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 (serving in Korea during the Vietnam War), followed by the Army Reserves from 1968-1972. After his time in the Army, he was recruited by the FBI and was a Special Agent from 1968-1994. His 26 years of distinguished service began in Phoenix, AZ, followed by service in Los Angeles; Oxnard, CA; and Muskogee, OK.
He moved back home to Wagoner in 1984, where he enjoyed pulling for his OU Sooners, camping, raising cattle on his beloved ranch, fishing, and hosting many wonderful gatherings for family and friends. Anyone who came to Moose Lake Ranch could be guaranteed an evening of horseshoes, grilling, country music, and Harv's joyful laughter.
Harv was preceded in death by his son, Harry David Fender. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marcia, and his daughters Debby Damkoehler (Richard), Dawn Fender, Sheryl Ann Walker (Matthew), and Julie Fender (Everett). He is also survived by six grandchildren: Melissa, Patrick, Carina, Kenneth, Calli, and Benjamin; brother Richard; and cherished family dog Gus.
Harv will be remembered for his love of family, loyalty, integrity, humor, and love of wonderful times spent with those dear to him. He truly lived life by his motto: be a good person, have a good time.
Family and friends are invited to an open house celebration of Harv's life at the Fender family home in Wagoner on Sunday, August 24, from 2 to 5 pm.
