Harvey R. Edwards, Jr., 81 passed from this life on July 5, 2023.  Services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 10:00 at Mallett Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel.

Harvey was born on August 14, 1941, in Muskogee, OK., to Harvey, Sr., and Marie (Cannon) Edwards.  He grew up with sister Janelle in rural Wagoner and attended Pipeline School through the 8th grade and went on to graduate from Wagoner High School with the Class of 1959.  Harvey graduated from Northeastern State College (now NSU) with both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Education.  He taught for several years in California and Nevada, before returning to Wagoner to farm. work cattle, and manage his rental properties.  Harvey enjoyed his Sunday School class at First Baptist Church, reading and having breakfast with his friends at Braums.  He also loved to go dancing and went as long as he could.

Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Marie Edwards, his grandparents Rex and Ethel Edwards, James and Eliza Cannon, and brother-in-law Larry E. Semore.

Harvey is survived by his sister, Janelle Edwards Semore "who always tried to tell him what to do", nieces Lea Anne Clougherty and Lana Semore (Sam) Ebrahim, great-niece Janay (Brittainy) Clougherty, great nephews Bob (Paige) Clougherty and Patrick Clougherty.  He is also survived by Aunt Penny (Cannon) Sheets Larson, numerous cousins and friends.

Special thanks to good friends Tony and Sheri Lowe, John the Baptist and Braums friends, Leigh Sheppard and staff at the Residential Care Unit at Wagoner Care Center, and the ICU and Hospice staff at St. Francis Hospital Muskogee.  The care and compassion were beyond words.
