Helen Elkins Locasso, 90, born March 28, 1932 in Porter, Oklahoma, died on September 4, 2022 in Santa Ana, California.

Helen attended Vanns Lake Grade School and graduated from Porter High School in 1949.  In 1960 she graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Liberal Arts degree and minor in Math.  Helen received her Masters Degree in Education in 1968 in California.

Helen retired in 1987 from teaching math and science to middle school students in the Santa Ana Unified School District.

Helen is survived by her husband of 60 years, James V. Locasso, two daughters Mona Sylvester and Elaine Sylvester, four grandsons and one great grandson.  She is also survived by one brother, Paul Elkins, and three sisters, Marie Miles, Barbara Dillingham and Ina Linzy.

The funeral service to celebrate her life will be at 11 am Saturday, September 17, 2022 in the Chapel at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, Oklahoma.

Viewing will be Friday, September 16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, September 17 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
